BIV and Taxa method

Know how to do both the BIV method and the taxa method for a quiz. Be able to compare them and their effectiveness to predict water quality. How must the study be done to be valid?

Again the macroinvertebrate identification quiz is first. Look at the powerpoint and learn to identify them!

Monday

If you were not in then get the notes from someone. There is a quiz on the taxa or species richness method on Monday. Don't forget your Ipad, Monday in class you need to memorize the macroinvertebrates from the macroinvertebrate powerpoint we looked at. There will be a quiz on it Tuesday before we go out. Dress accordingly to collect bugs on Tuesday, old sneakers, shorts and a change of clothes in case you fall in.

we have to go in before it gets too cold. Bring in old sneakers, boots and socks and shorts, to change into to go into the stream nearby.We will go in sometime the next week.
